She grew up in South Jersey and knew from a young age that she wanted to become a pediatrician. Dr. Lewitt graduated magna cum laude in Biology from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine, now Rowan University-SOM, in Stratford, NJ. Renada explains, “this experience really opened my eyes to the issue of disparities in healthcare”. “This is why I have dedicated much of my career as a nurse practitioner helping to overcome this disparity, whether working with the poor or indigent or working in Addictions Medicine, where most of the clients do not have access to quality healthcare, to my current position; proving healthcare to the developmentally disabled population”.

Prior to joining Voorhees Pediatric Facility in 2018, I started my career as a pediatric intensive care and trauma nurse for Cooper University Hospital in 1986. I managed critically ill or injured patients. I became the clinical educator for PICU at Cooper University Hospital in 2006 and was responsible for writing policies for the unit, and teaching the nurses critical care skills. In 2012, I took a position as nursing instructor for Our Lady of Lords Nursing School where she developed lectures and taught the next generation of nurses.
I received my BSN from Jefferson School of Nursing in 1985. I earned a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Critical Care degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996, and Post-Master’s degree in Pediatric Primary Care from Drexel University in 2011. I work as a part-time nursing instructor at Lincoln Technical Institute as well since 2016.
